Flora House, Kew

The courtyard of Flora House hides in its midst a secret garden of serenity.

Overlooking Kew Green, Flora House is a double-fronted Victorian villa that hides a secret haven of tranquillity within the walls of its classical-inspired courtyard.  Here, travertine paving and shingle surfacing intersperse with pockets of planting and raised planters of reclaimed brick.  A beautiful centrepiece water feature gestures towards tucked-away corners and cosy seating, while strategic lighting and wall-mirrors deceive the senses with the illusion of space and continuity, mimicking the movement of the plants and water feature.
